Peace of God
God’s peace is not the world’s peace.
God’s peace doesn’t change with our circumstances.
God’s peace is permanent.
The peace we find in the world is built on a weak foundation; it’s fleeting and gives temporary comfort at best.
It’s a difficult and sad time in world history as we’ve learned of Russia’s attack on Ukraine this past week.
Like us, your mind has probably been filled with uneasy thoughts, sadness, questions, fear.
May we now–and always–turn to God’s truth and promises which are our only secure source of peace in this unsteady world.
Here are a couple of encouraging verses I thought would be a good reminder and encouragement:
“‘For even if the mountains walk away and the hills fall to pieces,
My love won’t walk away from you,
My covenant commitment of peace won’t fall apart.’
The God who has compassion on you says so.”
~Isaiah 54:10
“In this godless world, you will continue to experience difficulties.
But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.”
(spoken by Jesus) ~John 16:33
“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray.
Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns.
Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness,
everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down.
It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.”
~Philippians 4:6-7
