That’s A Wrap!
Tonight wraps up our 13th year as co-operators in the Feddes/C-T Red Angus Bull Sale!
What a blessing it’s been to learn from and work with these wonderful folks over the years.
There is one thing about the pure-bred cattle industry that we quickly came to realize: a good program takes time and patience to build. As fast as you want to go, you can’t speed up the building of a good program and a good reputation. Money alone will not get you there. The opportunity to be part of the Feddes/C Bar T program has been such a gift.
This was my view at the sale today, in between running numbers from the auction block to the checkout desk. Seems like I’ve seen this view many times now, but also like it was just yesterday that we pulled into the Feddes driveway for the first time with 2 small boys and decided that day to start our own Red Angus herd.
Here’s Keith’s favorite Rocking Bar H bull from the sale. He’s a Gold Mine son, & goes back to Feddes Big Sky & Feddes Blockana on the bottom:
F506 had an 836lb wean weight for 117 wean ratio, & a 1280lb yearling weight for 115 yearling ratio. He’s well balanced, with 10 traits in the top 30%. (Keith asked me to give all that helpful info above. My input is that he’s really good-looking.)
We’re grateful for a terrific sale day, for the wonderful folks we get to partner with, for the buyers who allow us to continue growing our program, and for an association and group of cattlemen and women we’re glad to be working with.
It’s a wrap on our 2019 bull sale, and we’ll sleep really well tonight (most of us already are)…but what’s most exciting is knowing that in many ways, it’s no longer a wrap tomorrow, but rather the beginning of the next step for Rocking Bar H.
